our ministries

loving & serving with gladness and singleness of heart

Serving Choir

The serving choir consists of a number of acolytes. The term ‘acolyte’ is derived from the Greek word, ‘akolouthos’, meaning server, attendant or follower. These laypersons, assist the clergy with various ceremonial duties during church services. The ministry of the acolyte is opened to children as young as four years.

Anglican Church Men (A.C.M.)

In response to an invitation by the Right Reverend Michael H. Eldon, the Anglican Church Men was formed in 1970. Five decades later, the group continues to grow and enjoys regular times of corporate worship and fellowship. They also complete various repair, maintenance and fundraising projects for the church throughout the year.

Anglican Church Women (A.C.W.)

Established within the diocese in 1964, the aim of the association is to provide opportunities for women to serve God in His church through worship, fellowship, study, service and giving. Today, this vibrant and active group continues to organize a variety of successful outreach, social and fundraising events annually.

Sunday School

From its earliest days, the clergy and people of St. Mary's have placed great emphasis on ministering to the spiritual needs of our youngest members. The children enjoy a full and varied calendar of events throughout the year and are instructed in Christian principles and the Anglican tradition every Sunday immediately following Communion at the 10:30 AM Sung Mass.

Altar Guild

The ministry of the members of the altar guild is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels and altar linens of the parish. They prepare the altar and sanctuary for services, and assist with clean up after. Guild members are also responsible for the placement of altar flowers and the decoration of the church on special occasions and feast days.

Social Outreach

The parish family is committed to caring for the needs of the less fortunate in our neighboring community through a variety of outreach projects. Through one such effort, members of the church have partnered with the administrations and faculty of Albury Sayle Primary School to offer tutoring services to the children.
